Bio
Dr. Jan Skowronski is an interventional cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates. A native of Poland, Dr. Skowronski has been practicing medicine in the United States for 25 years. He diagnoses and treats a variety of cardiovascular conditions, including:
- Acute coronary syndrome
- Angina pectoris
- Coronary artery disease
- Coronary blockage
- Occlusion precerebral artery disease
- Pulmonary embolism
- Venous obstruction
Dr. Skowronski uses radial access for cardiac procedures and has been a pioneer of using the radial artery for peripheral interventions. His patient care philosophy is “compassionate courage.”
Dr. Skowronski’s Training
He received his medical training at Wroclaw Medical University in Poland. His residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease were completed at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
About Dr. Skowronski
Dr. Skowronski founded Fortuna Devices, which develops life-saving medical devices. He also has participated in dozens of clinical trials studying the new medical products aimed at improving outcomes from cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Skowronski leads efforts to support Ivano-Frankivsk Hospital in war-torn Ukraine as well as refugee centers serving Ukrainians.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife and son, and is an avid epee fencer. Dr. Skowronski is fluent in English and Polish.
