Bio
Dr. Joyce Koppang is a board-certified cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates. She has more than 35 years of experience diagnosing and treating heart and vascular disease, including:
- Arrhythmia
- Cardiovascular disease
- Complex valve disorders
- Congestive heart failure
- Coronary artery disease
- General and preventive cardiology
- Heart valve disease
- Ischemic heart disease
- Myocarditis and cardiomyopathy

Dr. Koppang has a particular interest in echocardiography, nuclear medicine and diagnostic testing. She aims to develop a great rapport with her patients and has been nominated as one of America’s Best Doctors annually since 2007.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham. Her fellowship in cardiovascular disease started at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and was completed at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham.
