Dr. Michael Honan is a board-certified cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates. With 41 years of experience, he specializes in the treatment of patients with structural and valvular heart disease, including:

Dr. Honan’s Training
He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. His internal medicine residency and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease were completed at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Board certified in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Honan’s professional memberships include the American College of Cardiology, Medical Association of the State of Alabama, American Heart Association, Birmingham Cardiovascular Society, Duke University Chief Medical Residents Society and Duke University Cooperative Cardiovascular Society. He also has served as president and vice president of his local chapter of the American Heart Association, president and governor of the Alabama chapter of the American College of Cardiology, and president and treasurer of the Birmingham Cardiovascular Society.
Dr. Honan has extensive research experience as a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials and has written many peer-reviewed articles and abstracts.
